Follow scan tool manufacturers instructions.
Disconnect battery ground cable, then the positive cable. Connect the cables again, then turn ignition On and ensure fault codes have been erased.
To remove codes from vehicle memory, the EST is equipped With a "CLEAR CODES" option. To access this option, press the "FUNC" key, this will revert the EST back to the "DIAGNOSTIC CODES" menu. Press the down arrow key until "CLEAR CODES" appears on the screen. Press the "ENTER" key and the screen will ask "ARE YOU SURE?" Press the backspace key to select yes. Press "ENTER" and the codes will be cleared from memory.
There are two ways to clear diagnostic trouble codes. If using a scan tool, follow the tool manufacturer's instructions. If using flash codes, disconnect and isolate the battery ground cable for at least one minute.
